Seclusion and Bookmarking
Best Practices
Bodger1234
I am the leader of Seclusion, it is my responsibility
My mains are Bodger1234, CletusSlackjaw Yokel and tiger
Enaka
My alts all have the first name of Bodger or Cletus
Bookmarking is for practical reasons
We maintain Seclusion as a mostly secure zone, where Lumen
folk can feel safe, do PI, Indy or other in relative safety
As a result our primary focus is to “roll” roaming wormholes
If you do not know
“Rolling” means to force the collapse of a wormhole
“Roaming” wormhole is a wormhole that randomly appears.
Seclusion
Seclusion has 2 static wormholes
Static means, if you “Roll” that wormhole, another of the same class
of wormhole will appear in a few seconds
We name the 2 statics, Nexus and Ursus
Nexus
Nexus, is a static connection to High Security Space
Our normal SOP is to “rotate” that static until it is in Amarr
space, between 4-12 jumps from the Amarr Trade Hub
“Rotate” means we will continue to roll the wormhole until it is aligned
to Amarr space.
This allows all Lumen folk who are mostly in Amarr space to
access Seclusion with relative ease.
FYI, the wormhole type of Nexus is B247
Ursus
Ursus is a static that always connects to a C1 (Class 1 or A)
wormhole.
The C1 has much to harvest, gas, data/relic sites, ore and other
things as well.
Ursus is always a medium sized hole, you can bring over
battlecruisers and below, nothing bigger.
Periodically we will “rotate” Ursus, so that it is aligned to Caldari
space, so Lumen folks can carry their goods to market in Jita.
BTW, the wormhole type of Ursus is Z647
Bookmarking Standards
Because we take the security of Seclusion seriously, we need a
consistent manner to bookmark, so that the hole can be quickly
evaluated for safety and security.
I am going to walk through one of my morning evaluations
which includes scanning and bookmarking.
This is what the probe scanner presented me this
morning.
5 unscanned cosmic signatures
1 ore site.
I now need to figure out if anyone else has done any
scanning and then scan the rest.
The Seclusion Bookmark folder, which is
given to people who we have vetted.
Let’s talk about things here.
The primary sub folders I want to
mention are:
Mining Tacticals
Nexus
Data/Relic Sites
Gas Sites
Wormholes Roaming
Wormholes Not Zero
Ursus
And top folder items
The first item I want to mention is an
error that I see, that I will correct.
Because of that error, is the purpose of
this presentation.
Note in Wormholes Roaming there is a
bm for KMI-964. Unfortunately it has no
information to work from, nor is the bm at
zero.
I will show you the proper format of a
bookmark in a later slide. The only
useful information here is the SIG_ID
which is KMI-964, that is good. ALL
BOOKMARKS have to have the SIG_ID
as the first element of it. This allows a
quick evaluation of the security of the
hole.
I will delete this bookmark in a later slide
and properly bookmark it.
The next thing I will point out, is that
Ursus has collapsed on it’s own.
Wormholes have an expected life and
this one collapsed on it’s own because of
a timer.
The reason I know it has collapsed, is if
you look in the Ursus folder, the
bookmarks in “blue” mean that they are
in the current system. The 2 in our
system are BLZ-763. And if you look at
the probe scanner, in one of the previous
slides you will see that that cosmic
signature is not present, hence Ursus
has collapsed.
I will clear out that folder once I have
identified the new Ursus. We always
clear out that folder once it collapses.
The Ursus folder is to bookmark any
cosmic signature in Ursus for easy
access.
Mining Tacticals
I am a miner, so this is important to
me.
See the bms labeled TKT-860
This is that ore site you saw in the
probe scanner.
Note I marked the location of the big
Gneiss rock (average ore sites have 2
million cubic meters of Gneiss)
Always warp to 20km of those specific
rocks.
Also there is the “Jump Off” point, you
warp here and all rocks are on grid
and can be warped to, simplifying solo
mining ops.
Nexus
The Nexus folder is very important.
First you see the bm WZD-472 Nexus
Exit. This lets me know that the
SIG_ID of Nexus is. Allowing me to
evaluate on a quick glance as to
whether Nexus has collapsed on it’s
own (or by force).
_Nexus Cloaked and Uncloaked
tacticals. If an enemy comes through
the hole and establishes a bubble
either via HIC or Interdictor probes, if
you warp to 100km to “watch” the hole
you will be caught in the bubble and
likely be destroyed.
The Cloaked and Uncloaked bms, are
always 2,100+ km from the hole.
Close enough to watch it, and far
enough away to avoid being caught in
the bubbles.
Nexus Continued
Notice at the top level (that is not in the
Nexus folder) you will see 2 other bms
Nexus Exit, this bookmark is at zero
and you can exit the hole to HS.
Nexus Entrance, is the other side of
the hole, so if you want to come to
Seclusion/Nexus you set your
destination to this bm and make your
way here.
Data/Relic Sites
In Seclusion all resources are to be
harvested on a first come first serve
basis.
This stores the location of Data or Relic
sites.
Note it should not include Sleeper sites
or Ghost sites.
Sleeper sites have rats that have to be
killed prior to analyzing the cans. These
rats are tough btw, so be careful.
Sleeper sites should be bookmarked into
the folder called Combat/Sleeper sites.
Ghost sites are unique and rare, I cannot
remember the names of these, please
look them up. But when you analyze the
first can if you do not finish and get off
grid very quickly you will be destroyed.
BM them into the Combat sites folder.
Ursus
Here in this folder should be the BM at
zero of the entrance to Ursus. In this
case (even though it is collapsed) the bm
is BLZ-763 Ursus.
Note: sometimes we add the words Void
or Silence to the bm.
Void means we never visited the hole
and is NOT at zero.
Further, Void is awesome, because once
it appears on our side (as Z647) it does
not appear on the other side for about 8
hours. And then the other side will see
the K162. It is a layer of protection.
Silence means we visited it, it is at zero.
But we never entered Ursus.
Note there are 2 bms, one void which
was the first scan of it. Then there is the
2
nd
one which is at zero and is used to
enter.
Here I scanned ILO-338 and found it was a data
site.
I added it to the Data/Relic folders by save
location. Note no special adornment, but it needs
the SIG_ID.
Here I have fully scanned the cosmic signatures.
I found 2 wormholes, and 2 data/relic sites.
1 of the wormholes was already scanned, but I
scanned it here as well for demonstration
purposes.
The 2 wormholes are Nexus and Ursus. I did not
have any roaming wormholes this morning so I
will use them as examples on how to bookmark
roamings.
When I scan them I usually first put the
wormholes in the Roaming Not Zero folder until I
can evaluate them. Here is an example where I
put what will turn out to be Nexus in the not zero
folder.
Note: I did not format the bm, only the SIG_ID is
important.
Here I am going to bookmark Nexus
as if it were a roaming.
I first warped to 100km of the
bookmark in Roamings Not Zero
Then I did a show info. Which is the
first image.
The 2
nd
image is the overview
And the 3
rd
image is how it would be
bookmarked.
All the information we need to
bookmark it is in those 2 screens.
First in the Show Info, we see “This
wormhole seems to lead to high
security space”.
The last line says “Larger Ships
The overview says the type is B274.
So the proper format of the bm is:
“WZD-473 HS Larger B274”
“WZD-473 HS Larger B274”
Here the SIG_ID always comes first.
2
nd
is the destination in this case High
Security space.
Other things you might see are Low
Security, Null Security.
Then the “Unknowns” which are
other wormhole space systems.
Here you might see:
Unknown (C1/C2 wormhole)
Dangerous Unknown (C3/C4
wormhole)
Deadly Unknown (C5+ Wormhole)
After the destination we put the size of
the wormhole in this case Larger
And then the type of the wormhole in
this case B274
Wormholes Roaming, and Wormholes
Roaming Not Zero.
When you have a roaming, that is a non
static random wormhole bm, please put
them in one or the other.
The difference between these folders is
very important.
If you bookmark into Wormholes
Roaming, the bm MUST be at zero
distance from the hole. That way us
“rollers”, can get on grid and quickly deal
with the hole, especially under combat
conditions.
Wormholes Roaming Not Zero is if you
do not have time or in a long set of scans
and want to record it from the probe
scanner screen but not visit it.
To get the at zero bm warp to 100km and
hit save location.
The proper format was discussed in the
previous slide.
Here is the final outcome
Note we have 3 data/relic sites
Nexus is marked in the Nexus folder
Ursus is marked in the Ursus folder.
I also cleaned out the contents of
the Ursus folder as they no longer
apply.
Nexus Entrance
Nexus Exit are still present.
And We are done
The End
